The Swimming Carnival will be once again held at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre in Week 5 on Thursday, 29th February. Students will leave school by bus at 9.00am and the carnival will begin at 9:40am. Students in Years 4 – 6 will be attending with all students being encouraged to participate. Only students who are in stage 7 or above can compete in individual events. However, all students will be eligible to compete in team game relays.
At the completion of the Term 4 2023 Swimming Lessons at Aqualife, the school obtained a copy of certificates of all students who are in stage 7 (completed Stage 6) or above. All of these students are eligible to swim in individual races at the carnival. If your child is in stage 7 or above but did not attend the Term 4 swimming lessons, the certificate must be sighted for your child to compete in individual races; the same applies for students who may have passed stage 6 on the holidays.
The carnival will be supervised by classroom teachers and pool staff.
Students should wear their bathers to school under their normal school uniform. To avoid the loss of property please label all clothes clearly.
Students will be returning to school on the bus at approximately 2.55 pm. Parents may choose to collect students at the end of the carnival. Please see class teachers to sign your child into your care.
Students will need to bring the following to the carnival:
EVENTS INCLUDE: 50m & 25m Freestyle, 25m Breaststroke and 25m Backstroke
TEAM GAMES: Boogie Board Relay, Rescue Relay, Gym Ball Relay, T-Shirt Change Relay and Running Relay.
I am looking for 5-10 parent helpers to assist with the time keeping of the events, setting up and packing up of the equipment. Please send an email to casey.vandersluys@education.wa.edu.au.
The cost of the excursion is $13.50 per student.
Please submit permission form below and make payment by Thursday 22nd February 2024.
