One Big Voice

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our Junior School Choir has been selected to participate in the One Big Voice Festival Matinee, held at RAC Arena on Friday August 18, 2023, commencing at noon with Young Talent, followed by the One Big Voice Choir at 12.30 p.m.
One Big Voice is a choral festival aimed at promoting a love of singing, friendship, and acceptance and developing relationships with other children who share a love of music.
This year, over 7500 students from 152 schools will be involved in the One Big Voice Festival and will sing a selection of inspirational and fun songs. The children will leave school at 8:50am, walking to Victoria Park train station and taking the 9:04 train to arrive at RAC Arena from 9.30a.m. for a 10.00a.m. rehearsal. Before the concert, they will be given a short break to ensure they are ready and energised for their performance.
Important Notes
· We are leaving the quadrangle at 8:50am sharp.
· Please send your child’s lunch packed in a labelled zip-lock bag. No lunchboxes please.
· No messy foods (eg chips, yoghurt, pasta etc) are permitted as we are eating lunch on the stage floor at the venue.
· Water will be provided by Mrs Pilmoor in small, disposable water bottles. Personal water bottles are discouraged by the event organisers.
· Mrs Pilmoor will be carrying the lunches and water in a trolley.
· Dress: choir shirts (to be collected on the day at 8:30am), long royal blue pants, closed-in shoes.
· We should be back at school before 3:30pm. Pick-ups from Lathlain only, not from the venue.
Parents, carers, grandparents and friends are invited to attend this Festival. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketek online, a Ticketek agency or at RAC Arena. You can also follow the links on the website: onebigvoice.com.au.
Parents are welcome to ride on the train with us both to and from the event, but they will need to sign the new volunteer form and pay for their own ticket separately.
The cost of the excursion will be $20.00 per student which covers the event registration fees. Transperth have decided to waive train fares for all students attending the event.
