Kindergarten Pirate Day

Bring: morning fruit and water bottle as usual

Wear: we are making a pirate hat, telescope and eye patch. If you already have a costume you are welcome to wear it, otherwise shorts and a t-shirt are fine. Kindy pirates don’t need swords or other weapons, please leave them at home.

Lunch: pirate food (fish and chips). This will be a piece of battered and fried Hake and chips from Belmont Village Fish and Chips and salad from our own garden.

Cost: (Covers lunch and pirate treasure)

Messy Mud Play

Date:  Tuesday, 12 December 2023 after lunch

Wear: old clothes (100% cotton may stain)

We will be enjoying outdoor play with squelchy mud (a special mix of clay and soil purchased from Nature Play Solutions). Playing with mud is a sensory thrill as children are allowed the freedom to make a mess. This can be quite a challenge for some people yet a very important part of childhood development. Children will be able to make mud pies, get our large toy animals messy and clean them off and for the more adventurous, get in the mud, use brushes and buckets to get really messy. Each child’s wishes will be honoured as their body is their own (Protective Behaviours).

Please send your child to school in the morning in their old clothes including an old hat.

Pick Up

Please come to pick up your child from 2.40pm to help us get your child ready to go home. Bring with you an old towel, plastic bag and change of clothes if you wish.

We will hose the mud off your child when you arrive and hand them over to you. You can then towel them off, take them home wet or get them changed there.

If your child is going to afterschool care, please send the towel, plastic bag and change of clothes with them in the morning so we can get them cleaned up before handing them over.

Thank you,

Deb Purdy, Dianne Rose and Jacquie Fox
