Dear Parents & Carers,
We are excited to inform you that as part of our classroom learning, Year 5’s in Rooms 14, 15 and 16 will be participating in an excursion to the Kent Street Senior High School. This event brings primary, secondary, and tertiary education together to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about Western Australia’s rich resources industry through practical activities and problem solving. Throughout the day students will compete in teams to engineer mining tunnels and apply their science inquiry skills to separate different types of materials using physical separation techniques.
Our focus would be on learning about using our science inquiry skills in different formats.
Day: Thursday 13 October 2022
Time: Departing school at 8.30 am to arrive at approximately 9.00 am
Departing Kent Street SHS at 2.20 pm to arrive back at approximately 2.50 pm
Travel: We will be travelling by Horizons West bus
Cost: There is NO cost to this excursion
What to bring: School uniform, a water bottle, packed recess/lunch, school hat. Students will not need to bring their school bags as tubs will be provided to carry their recess/lunch to and from the venue.
