Harmony Day is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Harmony Week is always celebrated in the week that surrounds the 21st of March and is focused on Australian multiculturalism.
Students are welcome to wear orange – why orange? Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
Students may also wear their national costume to celebrate Harmony Day.
