CycleSense Bike Education

March 1

CycleSense Bike Education Incursion/Excursion

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Starting Thursday February 8th the students in Year 6 have been invited to take part in a series of Bike Education sessions. Sessions will be running weekly from Week 2 – 5. Students will participate in their classes and lessons will take place on the quadrangle and school grounds. Students will need their bike and helmet for the sessions and bikes will need to be in good working order (see the Quick Bicycle Safety Check or check the link here).

CycleSense is proud to deliver a 4 week bicycle education program that aims to provide students with the skills, confidence and experience to ride a bike safely. The program begins with developing fundamental bike riding skills and includes balance activities, braking, scanning, and turning through a game-sense/experience approach. The next stage develops skills and confidence for traffic environments and includes bike control, etiquette (e.g. signalling), hazard perception and how to enter a roadway. The 4th lesson of the program will provide students with an opportunity to ride on the paths around the school and in the adjacent Rayment Park. Students will be supervised by two instructors from CycleSense and a teacher.

Lessons will take place on the following dates:
