Cross Country Years 3 to 6

In week 7 of Term 2 (Thursday 8th June), Lathlain Primary School will be holding its annual Cross Country running event for students in Years 3 – 6. The proposed track will, at stages, go outside of the school grounds and onto the school perimeter. Teachers and parents will be assisting to monitor and ensure the safety of students at all times.
Students will be required to cover the following distance:
Year 6 1.9 kilometres
Year 5 1.7 kilometres
Year 4 1.4 kilometres
Year 3 1.2 kilometres
The Cross Country event will take place on Thursday 8th June at the following times:
Year 3/4 8.50am – 9.35am
Year 5/6 9.40am – 10.40am
A reserve date in case of wet weather has been set aside. (Thursday 15th June).
Please note, these are approximate times only, and in the event of inclement weather races may be brought forward or delayed to accommodate students.
From these races, the winning student from each year, boy and girl, will be crowned as the school cross country champion, with the top 5 place getters from each race able to represent the school at the Interschool Cross Country event in Term 3.
It is hoped that all students will participate in the cross country to run/walk the distance. This year, students are expected to at least attempt the race which is part of the Physical Education curriculum.
I am also requesting a number of parent helpers to assist with course monitoring and result classification. If you are able to help, could you please indicate on the form below. I will then make contact with you to confirm your role.
